My dryer is in a back utility room and vents out low near the crawlspace — why does it keep clogging?

That's the classic older-Matthews setup near the town center: a short run out through the band board with a hood sitting low on the brick, often only a foot or two off the ground. We're in one of the subdivisions off the older part of town with laundry upstairs. Is that a harder job?

It takes longer, yes. That means a long run with elbows, sometimes sections that have sagged between joists and collected lint in the low spots.
