Dryer Booster Fan Installation in Charlotte, NC
Call (704) 269-9912What a dryer booster fan installation actually involves
First the run gets measured and cleaned. Length, elbow count, termination type. Every elbow adds equivalent length. Then the duct gets opened at a spot you can reach again (attic knee wall, garage corner, crawlspace between joists). The fan is set downstream of the dryer, never right at the appliance, at the distance the fan maker specifies. Rigid metal on both sides. Joints get clamped and foil-taped, with no screw points poking into the airstream to snag lint.
Power comes next. Most units run off a pressure switch or a current sensor that reads the dryer starting. That means a junction box and a real circuit, not an extension cord looped over a truss. The fan is tested through a full cycle, then airflow is checked at the hood.
A booster belongs on long runs. Second-floor laundry in 1990s to 2000s two-stories climbing to a roof jack. Garage-corner laundry pushed up into an attic. Townhome closets feeding a shared chase.
It does not belong on a crushed foil line behind a pedestal, or a hood packed with a bird nest. Fix those first. Boosters also collect lint on the impeller, so the fan itself becomes something you clean.

Call (704) 269-9912What Happens After You Call
- 1
Call and tell us your dryer brand and where the vent exits, wall or roof. We book a 90 minute arrival window, and you get a text when we're 20 minutes out.
- 2
We walk the run from the dryer to the outside hood, check the flapper, and hand you a flat price. If the duct is crushed or the hood needs replacing, you hear that number too.
- 3
We pull the dryer out, brush and vacuum the full duct, then check airflow at the cap. Lint goes in our bucket, floors get wiped, and you pay the quoted price.
