Dryer Vent Rerouting in Charlotte, NC

Call (704) 269-9912

When is rerouting a dryer vent the right call?

Ask it this way: is the duct dirty, or is the path wrong? A path is wrong when cleaning buys you a few months. Long second-floor runs in 1990s–2000s two-stories are the usual suspect. They terminate at a roof jack. Lint packs at the elbow up there. Birds nest in the hood. Rerouting means finding a shorter exit (a gable wall, a side wall, an eave) and abandoning the roof run instead of scrubbing it every year.

The other candidate is crawlspace venting on older homes. Flex duct sags between joists. Sagging holds moisture, and Charlotte summers keep it there. Lint sticks to wet metal and never dries. Rerouting overhead in rigid metal with a steady slope solves what cleaning cannot.

Brick ranches are different. Short rear-wall runs are already fine geometrically. The failure is a crushed foil elbow behind a pedestal or stacked unit. That is a periscope or rigid-elbow fix, not a reroute.

Interior-closet stacked units in townhomes deserve caution. Soffits and shared chases may be common property. Get written approval before anyone cuts. Off-site fabrication is sometimes needed for an odd wall thickness or a nonstandard hood, and that adds a day.

What Happens After You Call

  1. 1

Call and tell us your dryer brand and where the vent exits, wall or roof. We book a 90 minute arrival window, and you get a text when we're 20 minutes out.

  2. 2

We walk the run from the dryer to the outside hood, check the flapper, and hand you a flat price. If the duct is crushed or the hood needs replacing, you hear that number too.

  3. 3

We pull the dryer out, brush and vacuum the full duct, then check airflow at the cap. Lint goes in our bucket, floors get wiped, and you pay the quoted price.
