What a dryer vent installation actually involves

First the dryer gets pulled and the old duct comes off. We measure the run and pick the exit. Then the hole is cut, cored, or reused. Rigid metal pipe goes in with the male end pointing downstream, so lint slides instead of catching. Joints get foil tape, not screws. Screws poke into the airstream and grab lint. The hood or roof jack gets sealed and flashed, the damper checked by hand, and the last few feet to the dryer done in semi-rigid metal. Then we run the dryer and confirm the flap opens.
