Roof Dryer Vent Cleaning in Charlotte, NC

Why roof-terminated dryer vents fail first

Lint is fuel, and a roof run hides it inside walls and attic framing. Nothing warns you. The dryer just takes two and three cycles in July and August humidity. Then the heating element quits. Plenty of no-heat calls in Charlotte trace back to a blocked vent, not a failed appliance, and the board gets replaced for nothing.

The geometry is the problem. A second-floor laundry closet in a 1990s or 2000s two-story runs up, then turns at the roof jack. Lint packs at that last elbow. Warm moist air meets cold metal near the sheathing after a January freeze, and the buildup goes from fluffy to a wet mat. Birds work into the hood in spring. Pine pollen in April can glue a damper flap shut on its own.

Work is done from the termination down, with the dryer pulled and the duct opened below to catch debris. Blowing lint upward from inside just redeposits it at the elbow and scatters it across shingles. Steep pitch, wet moss, or brittle cold shingles are reasons to say no.

Upstairs laundry with a roof run wants attention yearly. Pets or a big family, sooner.

What Happens After You Call

  1. 1

Call and tell us your dryer brand and where the vent exits, wall or roof. We book a 90 minute arrival window, and you get a text when we're 20 minutes out.

  2. 2

We walk the run from the dryer to the outside hood, check the flapper, and hand you a flat price. If the duct is crushed or the hood needs replacing, you hear that number too.

  3. 3

We pull the dryer out, brush and vacuum the full duct, then check airflow at the cap. Lint goes in our bucket, floors get wiped, and you pay the quoted price.
